NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF NATURAL HAZARDS
Field scientific observation and research station of disaster dynamics of strike-slip fault system on the qinghai-tibet plateau in Xichang, Sichuan province
The Key Laboratory of China Earthquake Administration crustal dynamics takes ¡°According to the development trend of international earthquake science and the needs of national earthquake prevention and disaster reduction undertakings, taking the basic research and technological research on the key scientific and technological issues of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction as the leading role, constructing a theoretical system with crustal dynamics as the core, and providing a condition supporting platform for the development of international advanced comprehensive research institutions¡± as its development orientation.
The main research direction of the laboratory is 3D seismotectonic model, 3D crustal stress state and continental crustal deformation dynamics, which aims at understanding the process of earthquake preparation and determining the location of super-large earthquake, to explore the mechanism of earthquake occurrence and spatial distribution of disasters. Taking crustal stress and strain research as the main line, developing the theory, Method and technology of borehole stress and strain and in situ stress measurement, taking active structure and deep structure as the main line, carrying out the research on the relationship between deep and shallow structures, to study the tectonic model of the Earth's crust and the mechanism of strong earthquakes, and to conduct experimental studies on hydrodynamics, chemical kinetics and thermodynamics of deep and shallow subsurface fluids, taking the study of subsurface fluid dynamics as the main line, the function of fluid in the crustal movement and the mechanism of response to earthquake precursor are discussed, and the crustal activity and strong earthquake deformation are monitored by INSAR/GPS Earth observation technique, the process of earthquake preparation and source rupture is analyzed by numerical simulation.
